At N R D R, our pups inspire everything we do, and Max is no exception. Max is our goofy, lovable Labrador mix who never fails to bring laughter and joy into our lives. Standing out as the gentle giant of the family, Max has a personality as big as his size, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
A Journey to His Forever Home
Max joined our family back in May 2021 when we adopted him from the local animal shelter. His story, like so many shelter dogs, is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Max was originally brought to the shelter for constantly being loose. His previous owners decided not to take him back, and after being adopted once, he was returned for what we like to call "normal Lab behavior": high energy, a tendency to counter-surf, and a knack for doing all the classic Lab things.
Despite his rough start, we knew Max was meant to be part of our family. Adopting him is something we would do 100 times over, and he’s proven to be one of the "goodest boys" every single day.
Life with Max: Big Personality, Bigger Love
Max is truly larger than life, both in personality and size. Stretching out to nearly 6 feet long when he’s lounging on the bed, he has no problem taking up as much space as possible. His giant cuddles are unmatched, making him the ultimate snuggle buddy when he’s not sprawled out across the entire couch.
Of course, like any Lab, Max has his quirks. He’s a master of counter-surfing and an occasional garbage picker when the trash isn’t secured. But these "mischievous moments" are just part of his charm. Max’s boundless energy and goofy antics keep us on our toes, and we wouldn’t trade it for the world.
A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold
Max is not just a big dog; he’s a big-hearted dog. He adores his treats, but even more so, he loves his siblings, Cooper and Zoey. Whether he’s running in the yard with his brother or lounging with his sister, Max’s loyalty and affection shine through in everything he does.
Despite his size and occasional bursts of energy, Max is incredibly gentle. He’s the definition of a gentle giant, always ready to comfort his family or share a loving nuzzle. His protective nature and warm personality make him an irreplaceable part of the N R D R pack.

Max’s journey from a shelter to our home is a testament to the power of adoption. So many wonderful dogs like Max are waiting for their forever families, and shelters are filled with "good boys" and "good girls" just like him.
